All-County Band Auditions

Thursday, November 21, 2024, we will be hosting the High School All County Band Auditions here at Cape Fear High School. The auditions will begin at 5:30 PM. All students in band 1st semester are required to audition for All County unless otherwise told differently. In order for students to receive their honors credit, they must audition for either All County or All District.

All-County is the easier of the two auditions processes as you just have to play scales and sight-read. If you are a percussionist the auditions are exactly the same as the District level.

Our goal this year is to put AS MANY Cape Fear High School students into the All County Band as possible! Please make sure that your students are practicing and working towards getting better! There will be days that they can stay after school and I will speak to Dr. Jordan about letting students come to the band room before school starts to get some more practice sessions in!

Football Game at CB Aycock HS

On Friday, November 22, 2024, the Cape Fear Marching Band will be supporting the football team for the second round of the NCHSAA Playoffs against Charles B. Aycock High School. We will also be doing a parade rehearsal prior to departure that afternoon. The following schedule will be in place for that day:

1:30 PM-Students will be released from their 3rd period class to come to the band room. Students in 3rd period band class will eat on 1st lunch Friday. Middle school students need to be checked out and allowed to come over to the Cape Fear band room. Parade practice will begin.

3:00 PM-Depart Cape Fear High School. Students will need to bring their marching band shoes and gloves with them on the bus. Uniform racks will be loaded onto the Ryder truck (racks only, not the boxes).

4:15 PM-Arrive at Chick-fil-A (1300 N Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield, NC 27577). Students will eat and then will dress in the parking lot of Chick-fil-A.

5:30 PM-Depart Chick-fil-A

6:15 PM-Arrive at CB Aycock HS; unload the trailer, use the restroom, get settled into the stands.

7:00 PM-Game begins!

10:00 PM-ETA for game to end; load equipment and leave.

11:45 PM-ETA to arrive back at Cape Fear HS.

*We will NOT be performing the halftime show at any of the playoff games!

Raleigh Christmas Parade

For the first time in our school's illustrious history, the Cape Fear Marching Colts will be participating in the 2024 Raleigh Christmas Parade. As information becomes more available, it will be updated here!

Each student was given a waiver form from the City of Raleigh for parents and students to sign. I still do not have these from every student. You may not travel with us until I have them.

Please follow the schedule below for the event:

6:00 AM-Arrive at Cape Fear and begin getting into uniform. Load the buses and equipment! Please remember your plain red and white Santa hat. If you can not acquire one, please let Mr. Jorgensen know PRIOR to the morning of!

6:30 AM-Depart Cape Fear HS

8:00 AM-Arrive at Parade Site Drop Off

9:30 AM-Parade Begins!

12:00-12:15 PM-ETA for Event to End

1:00-3:00 PM-Lunch at Crabtree Valley Mall! Students will be in groups and can go eat lunch and shop in the mall!

3:00 PM-Depart Crabtree Valley Mall

5:00 PM-ETA to Arrive Back at CFHS.

All of these times are subject to change. I am basing this off of the best information that I currently have for the parade. The parade end time is not approximate but is an estimate so the times at the mall will vary depending on that. I will send updated times through the RemindApp.

Boston Butt Fundraiser

On Monday, November 4, 2024, we are starting our Boston Butt Fundraiser sale. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the season! Please help support this as best you can.

The pick up for the Boston Butts is on Wednesday, November 27, 2024! The pick up window is from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM in front of the Cape Fear HS Cafeteria.

The Boston Butts are $40.00 each and already cooked! They make a great new Thanksgiving meal option! Please help support the Cape Fear Marching Colts!
